Why do some people look better in selfie camera than others

It's like front camera distorted some faces / face shapes or than other
like people with wide, large massater jaws seem to be effected less by distortion in selfies than someone with less wide face for example

It’s quite easy to understand if you consider how the distortion affects each of the facial ratios. For example people with low ESR can look better in selfie camera because the sides of their face seem more narrow because they are at the outside of the photo whereas the eye separation is not as distorted, being closer to centre.
