Why do they recommend “muscle recovery” when all the top bodybuilders like Arnold would hit 100+ pushups daily on top of weekly chest days?

Is “muscle recovery” over exaggerated?

Arnold was doing this as a kid stupid fuck. Doubt he was using anything that young.

I’m doing it quite fine so far.
How will it “fuck you up”?

kike arnold definitely got his physique from the 1000 pushups he did as a teenager and not from his later gear and genetics

Well in order to max your genetics as he did you have to put in the fucking work. If he didn’t do everything that he did he probably wouldn’t be as big regardless of his “genetics”.
I’m not saying 100 pushups a day will result in an Arnold physique for anybody. I’m saying 100 pushups a day is best for maximizing your own genetic potential compared to not doing it, and that muscle recovery is kinda bullshit.

Pushups are not much physically demanding unless you are really heavy

No. Arnold was on gear hence he could recover more.
Apparently his 100 pushup everyday method started when he was a kid w his dad, so likely before he started taking gear

So I could do 50-100 pushups a day and still recover?

Well depends on how easy they are for you. Trained people that are not too heavy can do 100 and not feel anything the next day from them.

I’ve been doing 50 pushups everyday. I usually fail at 40, and finish off after 30 seconds. They feel easy to do..
My chest doesn’t feel fatigued or sore throughout the day or the next. So I guess that’s a good sign that I recover fast. I’m 140 lbs and I workout almost every fucking day so maybe that’s why

It's not demanding enough for you to feel anything the next day. If you were to try doing 400 at your level then I'm sure you would feel it.
