here's the thing, your brain is wired to have kids. all the shit you think is important in life is just a trick your brain plays on you to make sure you become the best you you can be so that you'll attract the best mate and have the best chance at survival and keeping your mate and offspring alive. but it can only keep the trick up for so long. by the time you're 40 you'll see through it and realize all the shit you thought was important, like success and glory and achievement are just worthless shit. you need to have kids so your brain initiates the "i just had a kid" protocol and comes up with new bullshit to keep you feeling like life is meaningful until you die.

all you have to do to see this is have your long term ex get married to another man and have kids. it exposes how empty and meaningless everything is. like if i became a billionaire i can imagine messaging her like "hey, i'm a billionaire. jealous?" and her just being like "lol" and then going and playing with her loving family.
