Why does dutasteride have to be taken daily if the half-life is 5 weeks?

ideally frontload with 40mg due to the long half life, then maintain with a daily dose of 2-3mg. you could realistically dose less frequently, but everyone sticks to daily dosing. there's no real reason besides it being a little more stable.

Technically a higher half life means a longer time to reach steady state concentrations in blood. If you space them out maximally saturation will be lower not by an insane amount but still. I won’t bore you with the pharmacokinetics.

you could load for 6 months reach steady state suppression of ~95% and then maintain at Every third day.
