People in the East don't care about people in the west. And vice versa. That extends to all humans, not just per ethnicity. In general, humans care about themselves the most, their immediate family next, and their friends/social circle third. Others across the globe? Negligble.

Humans in general are also short term oriented, so they likely aren't even concerned with their own long term consequences if there is some immediate short term reward.

I see them a lot on my feed. I actually don't believe any of them. They're mostly just scams to squeeze money by leveraging human empathy. As soon as the money gets to these "charities" it's pocketed under the guise of "administrative costs". Some of these corps do spend some of the donations on their alleged cause, but it's the absolute bare minimum to give the illusion that they're efficient with their donations. In reality, it's a money grab.

I can agree that its a money grab. Point is that the west is being emphatic and generous, but it wouldn't change anything even if the money did arrive, because these people are so stupid they would ruin it again.
