Why girls apologize so much even for smallest thing?

I was coming back from the bathroom and I was signing back in. This girl was using tissues where the sign-in sheet is. She was kinda in the was so I moved the paper a bit so I can write. She just said "Sorry" for no reason.

It was awkward because the room was silent and they all could hear the girl apologizing for basically nothing. So, the attention was on us.

I didn't even look at her. I didn't say anything and walked back to my seat an autist.

I don't think she intimidated by me. She came up to me and talk 1 on 1 before

There were more instances I only remember this one because it was awkward
