when considering implants usually giant and everyone on here will tell you that custom peek or titanium implants are the best but in my opinion they are just too unpredictable.
For ether the jaw angle or the infraorbital region there is just such a high chance of things going wrong. Infection, dehiscence implant reveal, and you usually need multiple revisions.
Ofcourse this is what surgery is, like giant said this isn’t a retail store, and shit just goes wrong and people usually over do them and don’t see them for what they really are (refinement and contouring, not let me place them in hoping of getting a chad skull)
I’ve reaad articles from Dr Gunson, someone that is genuinely renowned, and he has over 1000 implant patients, both malar and mandibular. Where basically states the legitimacy of hydroxy appetite implants
Gunson chooses to use hydroxy appetite granules which are moldable that he himself uses his hands to mold them so they look good,
And from those 1000 patients only has 1% complication rate, now compare that to giants “20% dehiscence rate” (not actually detachment but “dehiscence” in looksmax terms) and he has heightened the ramus using HA and from my understanding any sort of dehiscence is almost impossible since from my understanding he places granules one by one under the muscle. That's just a theory so don't quote me. @RealSurgerymax prove me wrong
Some might think that since they are moldable that that’s a negative since they aren’t custom designed, but you often see bad results of inframalar implants despite them being custom. And since they are moldable Gunson can always correct any issues with his own hands as it remains moldable for up to two months and since he uses his hands the edges will always be feathered unlike peek.
Now the only thing that is sort of negative/unideal is that gunson doesn't do infraorbitals he only does malar/cheekbone. but I don't see a issue as implants usually don't even change the orbital vector and to fix hollowness fat grafting mogs.
Also pair these implants with Gunsons 50 years of experience and black pilled movements and you have the best surgeon available. Yes he is expensive and not easily accessible to most but undeniably he is the goat, and when considering jaw surgery he is the way.
Here are some results of mandibular and malar implants with gunson, some might say the first picture is underwhelming but she is still swollen and had ICR (the worst ramus possible) and now look at her ramus.
