I think his perspective is flawed in that he tries to separate the emotional side of himself from the rational side. He acknowledges that how u feel affects how u think and act, which is why he likes drugs, but then says that anything that brings emotional fulfilment can’t fulfil him because it’s satiating a need he didn’t want to have so it feels meaningless. He instead wants logical fulfilment but he feels he’ll never find it because he is an emotional creature so he says that he’ll never be fulfilled

I think there’s no point in trying to find logical fulfilment, and just because ur aware that u like something because it appeals to the animal part of u doesn’t make it any less fulfilling. When I eat ice cream, I know I like it because it has carbs which my body likes, but that doesn’t make the ice cream taste any worse or my experience any lesser. You can’t separate ur emotional side from ur logical.

The logical side of u is designed to temper ur emotional needs, as in the modern world our emotional needs can be exploited by fast food, porn, etc and the logical side of us exists to stop us from being taken advantage of. The logical side itself doesn’t seek fulfilment. Even if it was fulfilled, it wouldn’t be as gratifying as if the emotional side of us is fulfilled, as the emotional side would appeal to our feelings and body, while the logical would only appeal to our brain. For example, You don’t get a dopamine rush when solving a math problem or a puzzle
