General perception of Indians is very skewed for a few reasons.
1) Indian subcontinent is home to 1.8B+ people of many races. Some Indians ruin it for all the others. When you think of Indian people you don't like, you aren't thinking of Apu from Springfield. High-skill North Indians who immigrate to Europe are typically higher caste. In India, they are used to treating poor, low caste people like shit. So as the highest earning ethnoracial group living in the countries that once colonized them, they behave like assholes. If you've ever visited other SEA countries you would have for sure experienced entitled Indian tourists. Obviously not true of all or maybe even most north Indians in the west. Not really an issue in US, but this perception is worsening due to social media. I personally haven't noticed this with south Indians.
2) Indians being high earners in the west just adds to this. People were jealous of European Jews, and Hitler managed to convince them that the average Jew was somehow corrupt, when it was obviously just some circles & powerful families. Same thing is happening to Somalis because of some daycare in Minnesota and Abdi fitxfearless.
3) You believe bullcrap you see on tt. TT is influenced a lot by China. Chinese billionaires have been known to fund transgender activism in the US. It makes sense that they'd push content about a country they hate. So now you associate the Indians you see in real life with the unhygenic street vendor from a movie clip and the 5 Indians who have an annual shit flinging festival.
Every race has the good, the bad, and the ugly. You shouldn't let that influence how you view individuals.
