Parents, teachers, and successful people say you should spend your time wisely, study hard, don’t do drugs, go to college, etc. and you'll be a failure if you don't. Although your elders’ and successful people’s teachings sound logical and reasonable, it also seems like it somehow is false as barely anyone else did those things yet their lives are epic and your life is shitty. Everywhere you go, you meet people who spent their school years slacking off, fighting, partying, getting drunk, and doing drugs, and they’re living happy lives while you were well-behaved, disciplined, hardworking, and are unhappy now. And it can’t be because they’re Chads and Stacies and you’re not; you know ugly people who have great lives and indulged themselves in their youths instead of working hard. Why is it like this?
