the main issue is that appeal changes throughout eras and trends while PSL is assumed to be a more static thing (although its obviously also still subject to change, just a more stable grading scale then 'muh' appeal)

this wouldn't be an issue if we were living in older times, since appeal trends changed less quickly in the past, and aesthetics and appeals stayed with generations (20 years+)

However, in the 2010's and 2020's with the obvious faster rate of change due to technology or other factors, appeal often switches considerably fast - for example the korean pretty boy appeal wasn't a standard thing till the early 2010's. there was also a so called 'great shift' of dark skinned black people in 2016 which allegedly took place.

PSL overrides this and makes the claim that if you rank high on the PSL scale, you will objectively be handsome/beautiful in every era regardless of appealmaxxing and aesthetics

you will override prejudices/racism and other forms of discrimination and appeal directly to basic biology and arousal through being high PSL
