only real fix is orthognathic surgery
main one
bone position basically only changed with surgery
fix your midface otherwise it’s OVER
- nose looks bigger or bumpier
- flat or recessed cheekbones
- hollow under eyes infraorbitals weak
- longer midface look
- less forward facial projection
- nasolabial folds deeper
- thinner looking upper lip support
- philtrum looks longer
- mouth sits slightly back
jaw / bite
- overbite or class ii bite common
- lower jaw looks recessed even if it normal
- chin can look weak
- teeth crowding or narrow palate
- smaller nasal airway
- mouth breathing more likely

- convex profile nose sticks out more compared to face

- orthodontics sometimes
- palate expanders if the maxilla narrow
- braces to fix bite
- fillers for cheeks or under eyes just cosmetic
only real fix is orthognathic surgery

- le fort i osteotomy → surgeons cut the maxilla move it forward and fix with plates
- palatal expansion surgery if upper jaw too narrow
- double jaw surgery if lower jaw also off
- facemask protraction
- rapid palatal expander
