much less to exercise and meal prep etc.I honestly think many of you are spending too much time online

1. It's one of the least NT activity possible. It's extremely hard to find a friend/extended family member who goes to something like that (you can have the same argument about theater, classical concerts, rock concerts, etc. like average people never go to something like that), so it's very hard to get started without someone from the outside personally directing you

2. They don't need to do that. Most people are blue collar workers who already work very hard every day, but their "eat what I want" diet keeps them high body fat, so when they get home they just rest, they don't have to pay money again to make that effort in the gym, because they are already being paid to make that effort at work

3. They don't have time and reason to do it. The ''you feel better/look better'' argument doesn't weigh enough for the average guy in his 30s with a job, a MTB wife and 2 kids, who barely has time to drink a beer and sleep, after finishing the daily chores around the house, picks up the kids from kindergarten and goes with them to the park, etc.

4. Many who go to the gym for any other reason realize that the progress they are making is not worth the effort and time put in, and realize that they are stuck at a certain maximum of potential (which is almost invisible if you're dressed in normal clothes) unless they totally change their lifestyle/diet, or take steroids, which require much more effort and time invested than they anticipated, so they give up on the idea, and many realize that if they just want to lose weight, they just need to eat less and walk/run/bike more (so they don't need the gym for that)
