He was in the back of the class being tormented by some kids on account of his ethnic name and giant neurocranium. We were 12 years old.
He was crying heavily. At that age, boys rarely cry – it’s seen as unmanly and a sign of weakness. But he was being tormented so much that he couldn't contain his sadness and was sobbing like a bitch. He even buried his face into the sleeves of his blazer and just cried.
I was sitting on the table in front of them. It was Design & Technology class. I didn't want to intervene because I'm a meek coward, but I pitied the kid and wanted someone else to do something.
Why did the fat teacher not help out the little, ugly boy in the back of her class who was sobbing? There was quite a ruckus at the back, with the bullies laughing and hollering and whatnot, so she would have noticed what was happening. Why did she not stop the little Somalian kid from having his heart broken?
