Will braces be good or bad for me?

I had accident when i was a child what cause me to lose my front left tooth after many years of not going to the dentist cause i hateed going my teeth have shifted and made the gap smaller now at 17 ive decide to get my teeth fixed ive heard on here that i will get braces to unshift my teeth and make room for a implant how could this a affect my face badly or make me look better?
