Will palate expander at the same time as braces mess me up?

So I’m getting braces in a couple months to fix my (very slight and unsevere) over bite. My palate is decently developed already (from unconsciously mewing for like 3 years) and my teeth fit perfectly. So If I were to get a 3rd party palate expander and apply it, for cosmetic purposes. Would my gap from the palate expander automatically fix? And would it mess my teeth up??

get braces after palate expander, and the gap can close without braces but if not braces will close it
