Honestly, negging doesn't really work. You don't need to be an asshole to not be viewed as a nice guy, you just need to be in a situation where you don't give more than you receive, and that applies to time, money, attention and validation, so instead of paying for luxurious dates, you need to do coffee dates; instead of letting her talk to you for hours, you need to always try to bring her back to your place and if she says no on 2 separate dates, then you need to directly ask her if she is even interested in you, if not, you can move on and find another woman.

So, the key here isn't to treat women like shit but to value your time, money and self respect to the point where you will not tolerate to waste time or money on a woman who uses you for validation without giving you any sex, and at the same time, you have to be willing to walk away too if she is crazy or mentally unstable or if she acts like you are below her.
Negging is similar to that but instead of punishing a woman's bad actions with withdrawal of attention, you punish women for being women by attacking their self esteem, which is a very insecure technique that will make a lot of women lose interest in you.
