Having your adrenaline going constantly in social situations because you feel insecure about your status with the tribe and by instinct you feel at risk of being randomly attacked or thrown out is more than just basic awareness. It is a screaming message that you have no stability to offer.

When dogs smell adrenaline they become aggressive if you're a stranger. It's the same thing they smell weakness and vulurnability in terms of status and strength. This is about social situations generally not some particular neighbourhood. Growing up in the ghetto does break a lot of people though.

Extraverted means you initiate and feel at home in social situations. Lots of extroverted people are not particularly high energy. Look at chads chatting up girls for example they are calm but they also get a lot of positive feedback and thus learn to like being social. I added nervous and desperate to make the distinction clear that it is low status behavior that makes her feel that you feel you are beneath her.
