Women get over breakups quickly but regret them later on

Studies have shown that women tend to get over relationships faster initially, but then regret or get reminiscent later on, wheras men tend to struggle initally with the breakup, but once they are over it, they tend to be completely over it and not think about it as much later on.

I think its linked to the fact that women both do and dont get over relationships because they use defensive masking tactics like being intentionally selective with bad memories and painting their ex as a villain. However eventually their brain feels safe enough to not get defensive, and thats when the real regret comes in. Thats why it hits them harder later. Because they cope with their emotions and repress them until eventually the truth comes out.

Thats exactly what happened with my ex too. Initially i was the heartbroken one, and then i got over it and she was the one suddenly regretting things and wanting to restart, only after i forgot about her.

It's because they have options at their fingertips whereas most men don't. This is reinforced by the subconscious influence of mass popular xulture (Ariane Grande thank you next, Beyonce irreplaceable).

When those options dry up and decline in quality years down the line that is when she regrets what she missed out on.

this is true but my ex never reached out to me. but for months her tiktok reposts are full of sad love videos, regrets and stuffs like that. i can be sure she is talking about me. she sometimes repost stuffs like I can't turn back now. i think she thought of coming to me again but she can't. she is also very egoistic and toxic. she is single too since our breakup. she blocked me on social medias should i message her back from different number? or should i move on?
