Would decreasing chin height decrease gonial angle?

Title.

Surgeon said that he will most likely decrease chin height so wanted to see if it would effect my gonial angle

Probably I have a short asf chin with low gonial angle it looks bad tho

No point in doing that.

the chin is connected to the mandible so if the chin is shortened the mandibular angle should also change?

If your chin points downward then yeah, but in general the mandible and chin are connected. It looks weird if you have a double chin.

the chin is connected to the front, the mandible would still have the same angle
