Would fixing a recessed mandible also mean widening it?

I have a recessed mandible and got an appointment with the orthodontist next week. My main goal is to fix my recessed chin, but would it also widen my mandible if he gives me something to fix it?

Unless they can reopen the suture like they do with SARPE

I remember Jawhacks interviewed this one guy for mandibular expansion similar to maxillary expansion and they discussed the possibility of tooth loss from such orthodontics.

I don't know how realistic this is but it definitely is, at least in the near future. For now, we have stuff like filler.
