I have Keratosis Pilaris Rubra Faceii and the main cause of discoloration and texture is inflammation in the hair folicle due to excessive keratin, would hydrocortisone be able to calm down some of the redness potentially? I doubt any of you have tried it, but in theory it should work, no?

Lactic acid works very good so far for me to smooth out the keratin buildup

Lactic acid doesn’t do anything for me but I have tried this other cream that I apply every couple of nights, it’s called Smooth KP. It’s supposed to be for your arms but does a great job reducing texture on my face aswell

Thanks for the recommendation. I heard that hair removal laser can also significantly help with KPFR by reducing the hair production

yeah i plan on definetely getting that treatment done, i saw a post on r/kprf that gave advice on how to prevent it from coming back after the initial treatments but i cant find the post anymore sadly

Update : i tried it, and it did indeed decrease the redness. Unfortunately, the redness decrease wasn't huge, and i wouldn't recommend using this as the main way to decrease redness due to the side effects that come with long term hydrocortisone usage.
