Been thinking about how a female dog in heat exhibits no care for the male's aesthetic appeal. Her physiological imperatives solely drive her desire.
"Yes, female dogs can still procreate with male dogs that have certain physical abnormalities, provided the abnormality does not impair the male’s reproductive system or ability to mate... Female dogs generally do not discriminate based on a male’s physical appearance, as mating is driven by instinct and hormonal cues."
In nature, primordial sexual impulses and desires which surge in all individuals, irrespective of gender, result in procreation unbothered by physical appearances, as the absence of contraceptives permits unrestrained biological drives.
In society, unlike the unbridled biological drives observed in nature, contemporary human reproduction is shaped by deliberate and willful choice, enabled by advancements such as contraceptives. These tools allow individuals to prioritize factors like physical attraction and seek a partner of higher social status, wealth, or resources than themselves--beyond mere physiological urges, in partner selection.
