I have a recessed chin which I'm looking to get fixed. I've had some x-rays done and it seems to be mainly a chin-bone issue, according to my surgeon at least. But I'm wondering if it might actually be a recessed lower jaw problem, in which case genioplasty could just be covering up a bigger deficiency. Anyone able to confirm from the attached x-ray what the actual cause of recession is? I trust the guy I've picked but always good to get second opinions from such a well educated group of upstanding citizens.
My surgeon was very confident it's not a lack of soft tissue either, so it's definitely a bone thing I'm just not 100% sure where. Keep in mind my head was tucked back for the machine to take the pic. Sorry for the average quality btw, they only gave me a physical copy will have to chase them up for digital.
And yes I am aware I will probably have to get my subhuman wisdom teeth removed.
