Xixi died today

I got some terrible news from my wife's father this morning. Xixi, the little dog who followed me everywhere for the last six months I spent in China has passed away.

She was a good dog. I'm very sad, but I'm also glad for the time we spent taking care of her. Even though I knew I would never see her again when we left, I miss her knowing that she's gone forever.

We kept her inside the three different houses we lived during those six months, separate from all the other dogs. Corgis aren't so well suited to the cold. Whenever we went on long walks throught the fields in the countryside she would always follow, either ahead of us or behind. Whenever we went to bed she would pass the knight curled up right outside our door on the little pillow we made for her. She was always excited to see us after coming back from our trips.

Xixi was a good dog. She will be missed.
