No way in hell will you ever see me watching mid:zero

“Cognitive dysfunction” Or maybe I dont want to watch a show where none of the bg characters progress in development and the mc is an uninteresting bum who cant even make the right decisions?

Bad take on rezero from you. Only retards make claims with no evidence. Gtfo of this site iqlet. Bad take from the TikTok too, some dislike rezero but calling the writing mid is just fucking insane.

The main problem with Re:Zero is its punishing loop structure and an intentionally annoying main character whose early arrogance can completely ruin the show for viewers (by reviews and actual conversations with people who have had the same problems with this boring ass show). Because the plot relies on resetting after death, the story often drags, forcing you to sit through repeated conversations and scenes that feel like filler. i could also argue that the extreme violence and constant torture are used for cheap shock value rather than real plot progression. Finally, many supporting characters feel like flat plot devices designed only to react to the main character, making the drama feel forced and emotionally exhausting.

Thats why we all just switched to romance and slophwa

love it, romance is a pretty cool genre to me
Romance authors are always pretty good with plot character development etc but the only thing is you can no longer expect power systems or aura moments :(

Slophwa is opposite but sometimes you can be surprised by decent plot and characters

Re:Zero has a very intresting concept with a pretty shitty execution IMO.

I mean ofc the isekai part is uncreative and overdone, but it's more about the respawning mechanic, since i haven't seen it done anywhere before Re:Zero

And i'm sure it's compelling to a lot of people, especially people who play video games, because it's always been an intresting thought experiment of how your life would look like if you could have 'checkpoints'

I'm not an anime watcher tho, which is for a reason. All animes struggle from the same issues of appealing to a younger audience. Except the very rare few like Attack on Titan for example.

Re:Zero struggles from that a LOT. It's very hard to watch as an adult because of the pure corny-ness and cringe. I had the same issue with chainsaw man which has extremely creative concepts and very fun art direction but the movie and show is borderline unwatchable outside of fights.

I'll stick to watching shows and movies. :y'all:

Characters that are made to react to the protagonist? That’s good writing because most good shows build their characters around the mc. For example Vinland saga, and the classical “complex writing” show, neon genesis evangelion. However the writing genre of sidecharacterslop is enjoyable, it doesn’t necessarily mean good writing. For example the walking dead, naruto, one piece, very mainstream pieces of media. Why? Because they appeal to shallow entertainment and lazy writing. It’s easy to enjoy many decent written characters that have many subplots, they’re also extremely easy for an author to write. However what really makes a show good for me is a well written main character with many internal conflicts and uses side characters as a good plot device to their character rather than something to fill a story. The constant torture and shock factor is necessary for this show because it emphasizes that even if Subaru dies over and over, death is extremely painful and scary and it’s not something to just brush off like other shows do. The rezero light novel really does well with the writing and I think the anime did a great job of adapting it. It definitely is well written.

It depends from person to person but 95% of animes i literally cannot force myself to sit through. The dialogues are like nails on a chalkboard.

I could give you that yes the novels were alot more adapting and eye-catching than the anime

What i could say though is it’s just a good concept, which i could see what they were going for the

the problem was exactly what @BigBallsLarry had discussed

They did not execute it well enough

can these utter subhumans wash their fucking mouth before speaking to me istg

True, anime in general don’t adapt well from their original writing. It’s just really hard to execute a ln or manga without an insanely unrealistic budget.
