Yes, it looks beautiful. Like the San Diego or Hawaii of India. Sri Lanka is getting on the map as a surf destination so maybe Kerala will be next. I do landscape photography which might be better in the Himalayas, but one of my goals is try to learn how to surf again and maybe tie that in with traveling. And I'd expect Sri Lanka and Kerala to be less tourist trappy and degen than SEA.

Tbh the most peacful place I've seen does get hot in the summer and is very empty feeling houses are very far apart outside of the cities but otherwise I think you'll enjoy the stay it is also quite cheap
