You're doing Ultrasonic Cavitation WRONG
Higher power does NOT give better results
Introduction
What is Ultrasonic Cavitation?
The Common Misconception
UC Threshold Effect
Risk-Benefit Ratio
Conclusion (TLDR)

Introduction
This thread isn't a guide for UC, so I won't be giving you any tips or advice on how to do perform it effectively and safely for fat loss. If you want to learn more about it, visit this thread by @PrettyboyQ
Most UC guides on the forum recommend for you to start on a lower power mode and work your way up to higher ones, with some people even using the full power the machine is capable of. I'm here to tell you that logic is flawed, and providing more ultrasound waves to a localised area increases discomfort and the chances of side effects without subsequently providing better results.

What is Ultrasonic Cavitation?
The Scientific Explanation
Ultrasonic cavitation (UC) is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses low-frequency ultrasound waves to target adipose tissue (fat), in which the ultrasonic waves create rapid cycles of compression and expansion, causing tiny gas bubbles to form which create mechanical forces that disrupt fat cell membranes and release stored lipids. Your body then goes on to remove the released lipids via your lymphatic system, causing you to quite simply piss out fat. It is scientifically proven to be an effective way of reducing localised fat deposits without surgery. Typically ultrasonic cavitation is performed on the body, and there is a decent amount of research and evidence to back up its effectiveness and safety.
The Looksmaxxing Explanation
For looksmaxxing, ultrasonic cavitation is typically used on the face as a way to remove stubborn pockets of fat without surgery. It is a non-invasive procedure which has no downtime, other than your face looking slightly puffy for a day or two afterward - from my experience, the bloat is extremely minimal compared to anything else - my face looks worse after eating Domino's pizza without a diuretic on hand. This factor alone leads many people to believe UC is superior to fat dissolvers like Lipo Vela and Aqualyx, despite the fact it takes longer to achieve desired results.
Performing ultrasonic cavitation on the face is frowned upon by normies due to a lack of scientific research along with potential side effects such as: nerve/vessel damage, tissue burns, bone damage, premature aging, hearing damage, eye damage, and neurological risks. Every looksmaxxer who uses UC knows about these risks and how to prevent them, which for the most part is extremely easy to do at low power modes. However, since the common consensus is that you should titrate up to a higher power mode, these side effects can become much harder to avoid.

The Common Misconception
Most people assume that using a higher power mode on a UC machine automatically delivers better results, hence the reason why almost every guide recommends you to eventually use power modes 5 and above. The logic makes sense, given this is often the case for many other things related to looksmaxxing - the more of something you do/take, the more you see results from it. This isn't the way ultrasonic cavitation works though, instead it has a cut-off point where results no longer proportionally increase when the intensity of ultrasound waves is increased.
One reason people fall into this trap is because higher power simply feels like it is doing more - the noise level becomes almost unbearable, the vibration becomes stronger, everything just feels amplified. However, this feeling of increased strength is sadly just that, a feeling of increased strength, not actual strength amplifying the biological mechanism.

UC Threshold Effect
Ultrasonic cavitation has a (sort of) threshold effect, meaning that once enough energy is delivered to burst fat cells, increasing the power doesn't necessarily increase the amount of fat which is destroyed, or the rate at which it occurs. What happens instead is that excess energy is more likely to be converted into heat (i.e. causing burns on the skin).
What most people don't know is that almost every legit ultrasonic cavitation machine is powerful enough to affect fat tissue on mode 1 - it "passes the threshold". This means that increasing the power is utterly useless when it comes to seeing better results, and instead it only worsens the risk profile and makes the procedure more uncomfortable to perform, considering how quickly the noise level increases along with the power.

Risk-Benefit Ratio
If lower power modes achieve similar cosmetic results to that of higher ones, then increasing the intensity only worsens the risk-to-benefit ratio. Considering facial UC is already not recommended, lacks non-anecdotal evidence, and does not have any scientific research behind it, it would be difficult to justify accepting additional risk and discomfort when there is little evidence of better results. The increase in potential side effects might not be that significant, however considering how torturously loud UC is (yes even on mode 1) sticking to low power is definitely more optimal when using the device regularly.
Conclusion (TLDR)
Based on the available evidence and the way ultrasonic cavitation works, there is little reason to assume that higher power settings automatically produce better cosmetic results. Once sufficient energy has been delivered to produce the intended effect in a specific area, increasing the intensity may increase the risk profile without necessarily improving results. This isn't to say you should religiously stick to using mode 1, I could be wrong about all of this, but considering the evidence we actually have on this fairly niche topic, I personally don't recommend going any higher than modes 1/2, mainly to avoid the horribly loud vibration sounds.
I think what matters more for results is using the machine for as long as possible, as well as using enough conductive gel for the ultrasound waves to effectively reach the fat cells.
I only began researching this because I've done 2 sessions of UC so far (totalling to 13 minutes on either side of my face, all on mode 1) and was surprised to already see results come in - I will share them as soon as my face is as lean as I want it to be.
I have an LW101 machine, and I appreciate that different machines will have different frequencies on different modes, however assuming yours is from a reputable source, it is still likely that low power is the most optimal for facial fat loss. If you want to know the machine I have, DM me on here and I'll drop you the AliExpress link.
Thanks for reading, if you found my thread informative or helpful in any way feel free to rep me.webp)
