Overfilling would ONLY be an issue if all of the fat survives, which will never happen. Filling to 100% means that’s exactly the ideal amount that the patient needs, then 40%+ of the fat dies off and your left with less than you actually needed. if you fill to 120-140% you will still be left with less than you actually needed after it dies and this is why most people require multiple sessions for th best results even with overfilling. Of course fat isn’t a replacement for recessed infras and that’s where many people make the mistake by seeing them as alternatives to each other when they address different problems and can not be substituted. Sure, implants MIGHT ascend someone assuming that they actually needed them (I don’t think most people do) but most of the results I’ve seen don’t look that good plus the long term implications make them a joke and isn’t worth it at all imo. Finally, yes I do agree that it’s overrated and most people are adding it to their plan with expectations set way too high because of the top 1% of results posted on here. I personally got it mainly to fix tear trough, my ethnicity are known for having lack of fat in the specific area so I think it could help if you are a valid candidate that actually lack fat and not bone, though I will certainly need another session if I want to see any major improvement.ofc not but Im not too sure on the long term results of fat grafting done the way Rattinan does. The "overfilling" isn't new but I'm pretty certain nobody else does it to the extent they do it. Like I said people with recessed infra orbitals are better off w infras w/ a small saddle and/or spacer grafts which will also help ppl w/ scleral show. Fat grating is fine to enhance a medium/good under eye area, but most people are going in expecting a drastic result which is 1. impossible 2. prolly more risky to go for a big overfill compared to well done implants. I don't see why it's a joke, if you have a negative vector and scleral show infra implants can ascend your eye area so much. I think we both agree fat grafting is a procedure that gets thrown around in everyones "surgery plan" but it's truly not for everyone.
