Accutane SERIOUSLY is overrated.

"Now why are you saying this Kojo, aren't you THE Accutane enthusiast??"

YES, I am,
but it's so misused and coped about because of retards filling this forum and social media with tiktok info from a jester named CLAVICULAR.
This idea that you should just "microdose accutane" for skin maintenance is so retarded and is a pseudoscience Clav has pushed out arbitrarily. Accutane does not penetrate the epidermal or Stratum Corneum layers of the skin, which is literally what we all see and feel on our face. This alone is already why topical retinoids are better.

Studies also have shown that Topical retinoids like fucking tretinoin already beat out low dose accutane in photoaging, wrinkles and pigmented skin. Which is what matters for maintaining how good your skin looks mainly. (With some other factors I will address)

Topical retinoids being applied directly onto the skin give it the advantage of changing the SURFACE of the skin. Accutanes main mechanism of action is the atrophy of Sebaceous glands (Located in the dermal layer), but being a retinoid it also does the other things the other retinoids do at a systemic level.

This is why it's also less effective for the skin because it's a spread out effect that comes from deep within the skins layers contrary to being localised onto the skin surface.

This is also why accutane can't get rid of Post-Inflammatory-Hyperpigmentation or Post-Inflammatory-Erythema, I like to think of Accutane simply as the ACNE compound not a skin compound all in all.

Skin cell turnover rate is another factor that matters but follows the prior principle of it being systemic vs topical. It sounds like an echo chamber but it matters a lot, the retinoids practically all have the same functions with accutane being a systemic version that affects the skin more deeper. But the localised action of topicals beat accutane out for skin APPERANCE.

So Kojo, if this is all true, what do you recommend I do for my skin?

Honestly I won't really overcomplicate it, You just need to attack your skin failos. Assess and diagnose the problem, look for what fixes it.
PIH/PIE - Hydroquinone for 3 months, cycle off into Azelaic Acid to maintain your skin from the pigmentation. (for pie use azelaic acid too) Use a retinoid to actually permanently shed that outer layer of your skin that's pigmented.

Azelaic Acid and Hydroquinone are tyrosinase inhibitors so they aren't permanent they just inhibit the melanin on your skin whilst your retinoid will actually shed the skin permanently. It should be permanently fixed within 3-6 months depending on severity.

Acne - Full accutane course, meet a cumulative dose of 150mg * your bodyweight in kg. You will typically get rid of pih/pie after doing this course but if you're giga low inhib you can do it whilst on the course like me. it's burning the shit out of my skin but who cares.

Skin Texture/Glow/Collagen - Are mainly stimulated by skin cell turnover rate and exfoliation (removing dead skin cells from the skin) in which Topical Retinoids do for you and directly on your skin, alongside chemical exfoliants.

Pairing this with something like glycolic acid can help chemically exfoliate your face, I'd only do this once a week though to avoid over-exfoliation. But imo topical retinoids and a full accutane course will mostly do the job for glowing skin and a good skin texture. (I'm seeing results in 3 days on tazarotene 0.05%)

HOW WE WILL MAINTAIN OUR RESULTS.

Tazarotene/Tretinoin - Every single Night
Cleanser/Moisturiser - Every morning and Night (Water)
Chemical Exfoliants - Once a week (preferably glycolic acid after skin gets used to retinoid)
Sunscreen - For photoaging, Use whenever going out, especially on a sunny day

Just be hygienic in general, Drink a lot of water and change bed sheets weekly. Wash your hair too.

Keep. It. Simple.

Ngl this originally was supposed to a small discussion on why I think accutane is overrated for skin and how some people misuse it but I guess it turned into a guide-esc post..

You guys can still give some feedback and disagreements though and we can CORDIALLY talk about it under this post.

LOL

you are making a thread starting over with shunning microdosing and are using 40 mg

If my points are right, why are you using a higher dosage? 40 mg? bros gonna be like "to get it over with"

joint pain = BPC + TB, and sleep an extra hour to help with joint fluid increase
chapped lips = aquaphor as well as a animal fat as needed
liver enzymes: injectable L-glutathione, IM coq10, tudca, NAC, and DNR every panel after that because it will be fine

There are fixes for every issue i listed therefore a oil nuker THE ONLY, oil nuker to go in every layer is not overrated and can be used as needed.

it is the only drug that makes miracles in skin and will always be NUMBER ONE next to prp.

You clearly don't know the point of the post, and this is why retards need to stop dnring things.

The point of the post is to say accutane alone does not get your skin from inflamed looking with hyperpigmentation and bad texture, to glass glossy and smooth on it owns. More appliances are needed.

When I said microdosing accutane sucks I'm talking about for getting good glossy skin. Your comprehension levels genuinely suck

Point is retarded. Taz, tret, adapalene, and retinol are all good but have a key flaw (dosing frequency) you can only dose them so much till your barrier fades away and needs a break; hence, isotretinoin is better "but bro just let your skin get used to it!" nope LOL shit logic. "It typically takes 2 to 4 months. to get used to topical tretnoin retard by that time at the 3-month mark at high dose isotretnoin youl be near 45% done with your accutane course and youll still be at 0.5 tret. hince why u use reinoids after accutane because accutane is the only possible way to get rid of acne long term

Azelaic Acid

Do I need to go further? you are retarded if you think the average person can tolerate TAZ as well as a chemical exfoliant, azelic acid, hydro, gtfo of here and even if they do takes months and accutane will already be far past that finish line by then JFLLLL

He clearly said topical Isotretnoin is ineffect. Thus it does not permeate it.
I thought he was referring to tretinoin as a lot of retards mean tretinoin when they say "topical isotretinoin" So that's just a misunderstanding. I didn't see the relevance of bringing up a discontinued compound when they aren't identical to the others being spoken about.
View attachment 5143803
You clearly reply to him with a unrelated tretinoin repose. This would only be relevant if you though Isotretinoin was also tretinoin.

Before you go but his prior post. Permeation and penetration are not the same thing.

Permeation for topical tretinoin is the drug delivery method. In his prior response he was talking about random left over oral isotretinoin residual being excreted, not a delivery method.
Then he still wouldn't really be making a sound point if its just "left out" residue of the drug being excreted and not actually interacting with the stratum corneum? or are you implying otherwise.

Also, him showing topical iso not making it is a false equivalence as topical iso's purpose is to act similarly to how oral iso works which is to deeply affect the skin still.

Yes you can, your face will just be really really dry and peeling. But you can use both, I'm currently doing it lol just be prepared for intense burning for like 10 seconds after applying moisturiser.

Skin will get super dry throughout the day too just keep moisturising

Ok perfect. You helped me bro, I considered switching to micro doses of accutane for my acne and I thought it would do the same as topical retinoids lol

And what do u think about the hair loss side effects of accutane? Will they affect me if I'm on dutasteride + minox?

I believe accutane gives temporary telogen effluvium through drying out the hair a lot. I think keeping your hair moisturised will help it, your minoxidil will likely help it a lot too.

Also if you have acne, use accutane. I hope the point of my thread isn't being too miscontrued by people.

The point I wanted to make is accutane is pretty much only good for solving the acne problem, it does nothing else good like Skin MAINTENANCE or fixing issues like pie/pih/bad skin texture or apperance. So if you do have persistent acne, just use the isotret brother.

But for achieving and maintaining model tier skin in general "microdosing accutane" isn't the way to go is pretty much the point in a nutshell
Acne - Full accutane course, meet a cumulative dose of 150mg * your bodyweight in kg. You will typically get rid of pih/pie after doing this course but if you're giga low inhib you can do it whilst on the course like me. it's burning the shit out of my skin but who cares.
Just to quote myself^

lol no, telogen effluvium is just when the hairs get pushed into the resting phase faster than usual. (Because of the drying), it is completely temporary, you're fine.

Minoxidil should actually combat this as it pushes more hairs into the growth phase

Perfect, I read that it could be permanent due to Accutane shrinking permanently hair follicles :(

You guys can still give some feedback and disagreements though and we can CORDIALLY talk about it under this post.

tretioin is for maintaining the results after isotret course, nothing helped me more than 20mg isotret for clearing the most annoying pimples that kept popping up even while i was applying tretinoin eod. That said i used to have that tretinoin + AA glow when i was on it and skin did look fuller and healthier than on isotret, but not clearer. I would say finish yout isotret course as fast as you can tolerate (only microdose if you must) then tretinoin + azelaic acid for life.

Yes, tret alone will improve your skin texture by accelerating skin cell turnover rate.

Edit: Exfoliation is just sort of like an extra addition you could add every now and then.
