The smile is a distinguishing feature of each person.
There are countless types of smiles, however, in dentistry and especially referring to dental aesthetics,
some differences can cause very different reactions and can also be percieved differently by others, so in dentistry we commonly try to strive for an aesthetically pleasing smile also known as " The Hollywood smile".
Teeth can ascend you by multiple points and overall change ur entire quality of life, just ask people who got their teeth done how many compliments they get

EXHIBIT A:
Types of smiles:
High or gingival smile
This is a type of smile that shows the full length of the teeth, as well as much of the gums, with a gum band at least 1 mm thick.
Medium smile
An average smile is considered when it shows between 75 and 100% of the length of the upper teeth, as well as the interdental papillae, which is the part of the gum between the teeth. It is the most common among the population.
Just a regular smile with not much gum showing no need for a pic here

Low smile
In contrast, in the low smile, less than 75% of the length of the teeth is shown when smiling. In this case, the lip covers a significant portion of the upper front teeth.
Inverted smile
Much less common is the inverted smile, in which the smile line is reversed. That is, the lower teeth are shown, which are usually covered by the lower lip.
It may be a genetic characteristic or, in some cases, the result of natural or premature wear of the anterior teeth, which exposes the lower line.
Ideal Number of Teeth Shown:
The ideal number of teeth shown in a smile varies, but research suggests that 8 to 10 upper teeth but some even argue that it is actually 6 to 8 teeth (including the incisors, canines, and premolars) are typically the most aesthetically pleasing.
This creates a balanced, full smile. Showing fewer than 6 teeth can sometimes appear less expressive, while showing more than 10 teeth can sometimes seem overdone similar to what we see when people get poorly made veneers from latin america (not a diss to latinos)
They should be symmetrical and harmoniously aligned with the lip line.
The upper front teeth (canine to canine) are the most prominent and the lateral premolars support the width of the smile.
Whitening of the Teeth:
Teeth that are whiter tend to be perceived as healthier and more attractive. Studies suggest that teeth that are whiter and brighter are generally preferred. However, overly white teeth (like those often seen in whitening treatments) may sometimes be perceived as unnatural.
Natural White vs. "Too White" A natural off-white or ivory shade tends to be considered more attractive than the extremely bright, almost blueish-white that some treatments produce. This is why a natural, pearly white shade often wins the aesthetic race.
This is the Ideal you should be aiming for

This is what I mean by "Too White”
Keeping good oral hygiene is a must but here are somethings that tend to stain your teeth
Coffee
Tea
Red wine
Berries
Tomato sauce
Soy sauce
Curry
Balsamic vinegar
Sports drinks
Sweets (like candy and popsicles)
Fruit juices (especially grape, cranberry, and pomegranate)
Cola
Beet
Popsicles (especially colored ones)
Ice cream (with dark ingredients)
Midline Shifts
Midline shifts are when the teeth are going into one direction Tom cruise use to be famous for his horrible midline shift
Notice how the teeth are shifting to the side this causes a massive hit to his symmetry
Now small midline shifts aren’t really noticeable to people but one way to check if your shift is noticeable is if it’s more than 2mm as that’s when it’s more noticeable to the general population
Pubmed article on midline shifts
Reasons for a midline shift are the following:
Skeletal origin: asymmetric maxilla or, more likely, an asymmetric mandible
Lateral mandibular deviation
Asymmetries of the upper and/or lower arch
Abnormal dental eruption, premature loss of primary teeth, or loss of permanent teeth
Tipping and/or drifting on the upper and/or lower incisor
Any combination of these factors
Procedures And Fixes:
Teeth Alignment and Number of Teeth Shown when smiling
Before I continue I need to address that correcting any crookedness or gaps with orthodontic treatments like traditional braces or clear aligners (Invisalign) IS CRUCIAL This step sets the foundation for the aesthetics of your smile.
If this is not complete you will look like a complete idiot. Now, Achieving the right number of visible teeth (6-8 upper teeth) depends on making sure they’re properly aligned so this should fall right into place I also urge you to not get any removals of teeth (severe nerf)
Teeth Whitening
.Carbamide Peroxide or Hydrogen Peroxide
.Crest 3d strips
.Laser teeth whitening
Smile Lines and Gum Lines ( Gummy smile)
This might involve cosmetic dentistry like gum contouring, or non-invasive options like Botox to reduce the appearance of a "gummy smile."
If gum exposure is a big issue, surgical options (like gingivectomy or lip repositioning surgery) could be considered these are largely genetic and are probably the only way to fix these.
