That network lets pretty much everything fly, and it's a shame they have to succumb to the modern shame culture. I do not think Sam Hyde is particularly funny, but I was upset to see them part ways from him because of accusations of misogyny, racism and Anti-semitism... Because the network was all about absurdist comedy and was so unique for it. Sam Hyde is none of those things, he is not racist or misogynistic or anti-Semitic, but his humor is, and he certainly is alt-right, but he had the prototypical adult swim show... And that show would have flown ten years ago, but the network is starting to suck and be gay as fuck.
Tim and Eric, Dr steven Brule, Eric Andre, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Robot Chicken, Infomercials, and the obscure vulgar Cartoons and Animes, played a role in my childhood development. These shows were all absurd dark vulgar comedy, geared pretty much strictly to young male viewers, and it still blows my mind that they were airing some of the horrific shit that they were. And it is a shame they are starting to lighten up and become super faggy.
They had shows where the punchline was rape and mutilation, yet the setup and premise were absurdly creative. These shows were written by working-class, poor-ass comedians, who lucked out because the adult swim was low budget, and willing to take on anything as long as it was funny and new. This led to genius art because they actually hired fucked up minds, rather than straight-edge rich losers who went to NYU comedy Schoool.
Now it is starting to mimic other networks and won't push boundaries anymore which sucks because I genuinely believe I'd be less funny and lamer if I weren't subjected to the retarded, strange, genius humor that aired on that network.
This was a rant, but I hope someone agrees, that network aired some weird shit and actually meant a lot to me growing up.
