The topic of suicide is one of the disgustingly romanticized pieces shown in media in the world, overtime this has made it so suicide is viewed as a global "exit" button, a way out when you have nowhere to go. However this is very far from the truth, filmmakers themselves often depict suicide very wrongly for 2 main reasons, 1 because they're seeking to capture the emotion behind the action, and 2 because they have no general idea of bodily anatomy and responses.

A very common shared statement and experience from people who have survived things like jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge in an attempt to end their life is instant regret, nearly 100% of survivors state that the moment they jumped they "immediately felt like every single problem in their life was fixable." This is a shared, universal experience by all suicide survivors. This is something you will feel no matter what the second you jump because the depressive brain fog immediately disappears without a trace and is replaced by your hyper-aware conscious, which doesn't want to die.

THE TRUTH ABOUT SUICIDE & SUICIDE METHODS

Let's get into the biggest and most important statistic you will see in this entire thread:

96% of all suicide attempts fail. - according to nearly all major studies done on it.

The hollywood-ized idea of suicide is that it's a quick, emotional, clean, and a guaranteed escape. It's been romanticized so much to the point of where some of the majority believes suicide is an "honorable act." The reality could not be further from the truth. You are not meant to die, you are not meant to go through any traumatic physical event that could result in death either, all successful suicides (and unsuccessful suicides) go through a gruesome, painful, struggling, sweaty feat of effort and extreme pain that is so horrific that the biggest risk of suicide (and this is not ironic) isn't even the risk of ending your life, it's the significantly larger (25x higher chance) that you will end up with a permanent, agonizing disability. The 25x number isn't a hyperbole, for every 1 person that succeeds in a suicide, there are 25 people that end up with an extremely painful, lifelong disability.

Here are the most common ones:

Attempt MethodType of Permanent DisabilityThe "Agony" Reality
Hanging/AsphyxiationAnoxic Brain DamageThis results in loss of motor control, personality changes, and "Locked-in Syndrome"—being fully conscious but unable to move or speak.
OverdoseHepatic/Renal FailureLiving on a dialysis machine for 12+ hours a week or waiting years for an organ transplant while your body slowly yellows and toxins build up in your blood.
Jumping/ImpactShattered Spine/PelvisPermanent paralysis (quadriplegia) or chronic "non-union" bone pain where the skeleton never fully heals, requiring a lifetime of heavy painkillers.
FirearmsMaxillofacial Trauma (You cant mog)Survival often means losing your jaw, nose, or eyes. Survivors face dozens of reconstructive surgeries and can never eat, speak, or look at a mirror the same way again.
CorrosivesEsophageal StrictureYour throat is replaced with scar tissue. You may never taste food again, instead "eating" through a plastic tube inserted directly into your stomach.

Doesn't seem so cute and emotional now does it? That's because it isn't. Have you ever been gambling? Think of a heads or tails that you have bet everything on that you have approximately a 2500% chance higher to lose than win, you wouldn't bet on it would you? Well that's what you are betting when you attempt to end your life. Not to mention there is no gain either, you either go into complete darkness and cease to exist (meaning you never reach "peace," your last act and memory will be your body writhing in extreme pain as you succumb to your actions which will also be extremely painful on your conscious) or according to every single major religion in the world, you go to hellfire and burn for eternity, which is a fair bit worse than any recession or life issues you may have.

The information given above wasn't enough, let's go through the top 10 most common methods of suicide and see whether or not ANY of them cater to your needs.

MethodSurvival Rate (Approx)What You Go Through: Result of Survival (Permanent Disability)
1. Firearms60%The "startle reflex" causes a flinch. Bullets often ricochet inside the skull or exit through the face instead of the brain stem.Total blindness, loss of jaw/nose, permanent traumatic brain injury (TBI), 24/7 nursing care.
2. Hanging80%Not like the movies; the neck rarely breaks. It is 5–10 minutes of "air hunger" and violent thrashing as the body tries to breathe.Anoxic Brain Damage: "Locked-in syndrome," personality shifts, loss of motor control (shaking/paralysis).
3. Jumping (High Height)40%Impact causes "poly-trauma"—the literal exploding of internal organs and the shattering of the pelvis and spine.Paraplegia or quadriplegia. Chronic "bone pain" that never heals; a life in a wheelchair with 24/7 pain.
4. Train/Vehicle Impact40 - 70%"Degloving" (skin torn from muscle) and "traumatic amputation." The nervous system enters a state of white-out shock.Loss of multiple limbs, permanent cognitive decimation, and "phantom limb" pain that cannot be treated.
5. Carbon Monoxide44%Modern cars have low emissions. It’s a "slow cook" that causes a searing headache, nausea, and heat exhaustion for hours.Parkinsonian Tremors, early-onset dementia, and permanent loss of short-term memory.
6. Pesticide Ingestion30 - 40%Causes "cholinergic crisis": you drown in your own fluids (tears, saliva, vomit, bile) while your muscles go into rigid, bone-breaking spasms.Permanent nerve damage (neuropathy) that feels like constant electric shocks in the arms and legs.
7. Self-Immolation (Fire)20%The highest pain threshold a human can feel. The skin cooks and tightens until it splits, and you remain conscious until the nerves are carbonized.Years in a burn unit, daily "debridement" (scraping off raw flesh), and permanent, horrific disfigurement.
8. Drowning60%The "laryngospasm" reflex feels like your throat is being crushed by a vise while your lungs burn as they fill with water.Severe brain damage from lack of oxygen; living in a vegetative state for decades.
9. Electrocution77%High-voltage current cooks internal organs and causes the heart to vibrate (fibrillation) rather than stop, leading to a slow, burning death.Severe internal scarring, loss of organ function (liver/kidney), and permanent neurological "fried" circuits.
10. Drug Overdose98%Traumatic systemic crisis where the body’s vital organs, typically the heart, lungs, and brain, struggle to process toxic levels of a substance, leading to symptoms ranging from respiratory failure and seizures to profound loss of consciousness.Survivors face permanent disabilities such as chronic cognitive impairment, motor dysfunction from brain damage, or end-stage organ failure requiring lifelong dialysis or transplantation.

The methods above are the NICEST methods, as you can clearly see, no easy way out, because there isn't supposed to be. You are never meant to end your life.

Research suggests that the "brain fog" that clouds judgement during suicidal thoughts is capable of lowering the affected person's IQ by over 30 points. This means that for 99% of people who feel suicidal thoughts, they feel and make them in a state that would regularly be considered mentally disabled. There is also narrowing of perception, suicide becomes the only reasonable thought and you don't consider any alternatives even when they are thrown at you. Low serotonin and high cortisol levels during these periods can impair the brain's ability to regulate emotions, making a temporary "storm" feel like a permanent "climate."

Well that's what research says, but what do the survivors say? Well..

Over 90% of people who have attempted suicide once do not end up dying from suicide.

Total recoveries and complete shutdown of any suicidal ideas are extremely common within people who have attempted to end their life.

Would you take steroid advice from a redditor who's never taken steroids? No right? Because they don't know what they're talking about, so why would you ignore the people that have actually tried to kill themselves, who are telling you that it isn't what it seems and you shouldn't do it, and listen to normies/NDcels who haven't touched a pill in their life about their cynical and nihilistic beliefs about suicide and why it's so awesome and the way out of a "miserable existence."

It is never over. Let's get into it.

Some of the most successful and known people on Earth found their success after surviving a suicide attempt, it would've happened anyway, but if they succeeded in ending their life, they wouldn't have found it.
NameThe AttemptWhat They Went On To Do
Kevin HinesJumped off the Golden Gate Bridge. He is one of only 36 people to ever survive the 220-foot fall. Now a world-renowned motivational speaker, award-winning filmmaker, and bestselling author who has saved thousands of lives.
Drew BarrymoreAttempted suicide at age 14 after a childhood of severe drug and alcohol abuse.Became one of Hollywood’s most successful actresses, producers, and entrepreneurs with a net worth over $125 million.
EminemAttempted suicide via drug overdose in 1996 after his debut album failed and his personal life collapsed.Went on to become the best-selling artist of the 2000s and is widely considered one of the greatest rappers of all time.
Ken JeongBefore his fame, he struggled with severe depression and "dark periods" while working as a physician.Left medicine to become a global comedy superstar (The Hangover) and a judge on The Masked Singer.
Mike TysonAttempted to end his life by driving his car into a tree at high speed during a period of deep despair.Transformed from "the baddest man on the planet" into a beloved entertainer, successful podcaster, and advocate for mental health.
Pat ConroyAttempted suicide after a breakdown; he credited intensive therapy for saving his life after the near-fatal event.Became the legendary author of The Prince of Tides and The Great Santini, with multiple Oscar-nominated film adaptations.
Jordan BurnhamJumped from a 9-story window as a teenager, surviving with massive physical trauma.Became a nationally recognized mental health advocate featured on CNN and Good Morning America, living a life of high impact.
Terry BradshawBattled clinical depression and suicidal ideation so severe it led to alcohol dependence and weight loss.NFL Hall of Fame quarterback, 4-time Super Bowl winner, and one of the most successful sports broadcasters in history.
Leon McKenzieFormer Premier League footballer who attempted suicide via overdose during a bout of depression.Successfully transitioned into a professional boxing career, winning titles and becoming a prominent mental health coach.
Walt DisneySuffered a nervous breakdown and attempted suicide during his early, failed years in Kansas City.Built the most influential entertainment empire in history, creating characters that defined 20th-century culture.

Sure these are rarer than the average scenario, so what does the average joe who survives his suicide attempt end up at?

According to all reported studies, 90 - 94% of survivors end up living extremely fulfilling lives, a large majority (80 - 90%) end up getting married, and dying of old age or natural causes. 40% of these people end up successful and achieving total mental happiness. 100% of these people wish they didn't attempt and never attempt again.

Personal Testimony

Sure these are statistics, but what about some actual testimony? Look no further than yours truly. I survived an attempt to end my life 4 years ago utilizing a sodium nitrite suicide kit. Here are a few of the achievements I've made since then.

- Months after my suicide attempt, met my current girlfriend who I've LTRed and is amazing, I will marry this woman.
- Stopped 6 suicide attempts
- Ascended hard (Borderline LHTN currently)
- Expanded my social circle by a lot and made a large amount of new friends
- Became much lower inhib
- Became much more NT
- Attained an actual social status, no longer viewed as an outcast or a weirdo
- Been able to help recover dozens of teenagers from suicidal/depressed status and help them get better
- Lost my hatred for people
- Gained mental peace and clarity
- Became consistently happy which is increasing day by day

And so much more that I can't remember right now!

A single human being existing is a statistical anomaly, you would have to win the lottery approximately 335,625 times in a row to even come close to the general chance of any human existing, let alone you. If you want a different example, the chance of any human existing is 1 in 10^2,685,000, to put that into perspective, there are only 10^80 atoms in the observable universe. You existing is so insanely rare that the average entity would be luckier to see you once in their lifetime than win the powerball over 300,000 times in a row. You wouldn't throw away a single one of those powerball wins, so throwing away your life shouldn't even be a considered thought in your subconscious let alone a serious idea.

John Paul Dejoria was homeless twice in his life and had nothing and with his last $700 founded a brand that has now given him a networth of 3 billion dollars.

"But nobody loves me and I'm below average"

TL;DR: User was in an end state suicidal phase with his suicide kit and by just not giving up, he got married a few days ago to the love of his life. He had no friends, family hated him, and was terribly neurodivergent.

"But nobody would remember me"
I still remember my friend Tim who ended his life over 5 years ago, he died believing he was alone and nobody cared. I've dedicated my life to making sure nothing like Tim's scenario could ever happen again. His story has been seen by thousands of people and inspired many people to live, there are people alive because of him.

Do it for you, you are special, love yourself, I am grateful you are alive, yes you reading this, as an individual, no matter what you may think. I am glad you are here, and I wish for nothing but for you to continue onwards.

"Maxillofacial Trauma (You cant mog)" you dumb sucking nigger, that's why people kill themselves in the first place. Btw the niggers you have shown (27y old and 18-19) had surgeries that most people can't afford. You giving false hopes to people. If you want to kill yourself do it using a shotgun to the head and there is no chance of survival and no regret. Fuck all of you niggers, I hate all of you and I wish I could kill all of you but I can't.

Not a single word on sex. A friend told me she wouldn't suicide because sex was so good. But, of course, compliments are better.
I give you two reasons not to suicide: plastic surgery and steroids. Those are the things that really improve your life

I never understood the thought process that goes thru the majority of the toxic people on org. If you truly understood the BP you'd feel sympathetic for the less fortunate or even understand their situation as you felt you were treated a similar way back then as well. The entire point of this forum is to try and see people for beyond their looks and help them improve and learn. BP is an understanding of the world being cruel and unfair, which is why I always try and motivate everyone so they don't fall into a depressing, hopeless worldview like some of the people that sadly have taken their lives due to BP. We should all be pushing each other to have hope and believe that they can achieve what they want regardless of circumstance, to live a fulfilling and exciting life even in this shallow, evil world.

@imontheloose @inversions

And no guns don't have a %60 survival rate, was the study done in Tamil Nadu or something?
I'm laughing to this dude is just blatantly lying, I think the statistics for gun suicide is like 90% , maybe op was just looking at gun violence because if you aim a gun to ur head it'si pretty hard not to have success

Anyways people are suicidal for a reason, let people end their suffering instead of trying to scare and fear monger them into living for ur imaginary brownie points

Also @Master aren't you the owner of SS.net? Thought you of all people would understand the nature of suicide

Jew propaganda to keep the government slaves alive so they can keep working their 9 to 5

@imontheloose @inversions

Jfl at not doing your own research. “Muh 90%” only accounts for reported cases and I’ve done my research and have actual experience with this stuff unlike either of you or any other attention fueled suicide coper on this site.

Bear in mind a person’s effective iq is lowered by about 30 when in a depressive/suicidal state, meaning any decision or idea or belief you uphold in that state is wrong 99% of the time because your effective iq is that of a moderately - severe mentally disabled person.

Do your own research instead of wallowing in your own self pity and misery and rambling on about stuff you have no idea or experience with.

why would the owner of ss ever pin shit like this🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 @Notcel
Master obviously has better stuff to do than browse threads all day, besides 95% of his tags aren’t very nice to him anyway. Assuming it was Master of all people who pinned my thread is exactly the brain power someone that has a current effective iq of an lesser ape would say.

Most studies indicate that firearm suicide attempts are fatal between 85% and 91% of the time

And your thread really wasn't something revolutionary, just used fear mongering and niche cases to give people false hope

you really think your average homeless person is going to wake up one day and make a million dollar business , you wish

But I guess having hope in the world and life is nice, but I know at the end of the day the world is dark
