I am above 18 with a 8-9mm overbite (my father has sleep apnea) . Do I just tell them I am worried about my risk for sleep apnea and have trouble breathing in correct posture?

Anyone who convinced doctors or insurance to get them jaw surgery your input would be appreciated

say you're gay or depressed and you want to rope unless you can get jaw surgery.

That's a dangerous game to play and not one that I will partake in. Doing that will just make them think that I need psychiatric help and that I have BDD. I need to be civilized and put forth my health concerns

Gonna be honest your going to struggle getting it on the NHS. Your going to have to really sell it that your going to rope if you don't get this surgery. Tbh im not psycho enough to do this so I am just going to save up and pay for it. Even if you do get it there could be a long waiting list. You need a class 3 malocclusion (I think), for them to CONSIDER giving you NHS treatment. 9mm Overbite is bad but its probably not bad enough for free surgery.

Why would the rope option work man? That's literally telling the NHS that I need to be sectioned and any word that comes out my mouth in nonsese.... I have class 2 malocclusion and my maxilla is almost as far back as someone with class 3 + set back jaw so i feel like class 2 is worse.

I will try going to my GP and really telling them I am concerned about the health implications. Additionally I have private healthcare so that might come into play

My slayer tyrone friend was offered jaw surgery with class 3 and he had a pretty decent maxilla + excellent slayer jaw thats fucked if they can't help me but he may have been below 18

The waiting list is probably what will get you , no harm in asking they probably will say yes I remember seeing a video of a girl who waited 7 years. Do you have private health insurance?

Might be worth taking out private Healthcare and then claiming on it.

Sorry bro NHS is not gonna happen - unless you can prove that 1) you have severe sleep apnea caused by jaw deformity, and 2) you have tried a CPAP machine but couldn't tolerate it.

And even if you met these requirements, you'd be on a never-ending waiting list for surgery with a conservative, low-tier surgeon.

So in summary: no.

He won't get it on the NHS unless he actually needs it (as in, he has OSA and other treatments won't work).

Thanks guys ,

@MandibularCel I think there is only one private health company in the UK, or the biggest one whatever I am with them. Do you think they'd be more likely to pay out a claim than national hbluepilled service?

Call them and ask them but u will need to be referred by your gp/dentist first.

yeah thats what my mum said but should i tell them I have private healthcare and they should refer me to maxillofacial doctors that work for that company?

BMI

I havnt claimed on private healthcare even though I have it. So can't give you the best advise.

Best to try with your nhs dentist and tell him about your private healthcare if he says no go and see a private dentist and try getting the referal from him.

Call the insurers and just ask how it all goes but don't make it obvious you are trying to get it for aesthetic reasons.
