Salutations malefactors. I have secured my lefort 1 from a reputable maxiofacial surgeon. He has agree I have sleep apnea and done scans on me. My velopharynx is 5.5-6 mm when the norm is 10 so I stand to benefit from this procedure. I would like advice on how to make sure this works going forward. His instructions to me so far have been to get braces affixed for six months leading up to the surgery, which works since earliest appointment are between 7 and 8 months. Removal of lower all wisdom teeth especially lower so that they won’t be in the way of the saggitial split when he operates. I also have tonsillitis but that will be taken care of during this time before the surgery.

Please advise on your thoughts for how much advancement is a good idea and anything else I should make sure to ask or demand. The surgeon is intelligent as I told him my previously suggested advancement of 8mm and he said that we may be better off going even higher. He has some concern of making my chin cartoonishly large because according to him I have a very pronounced one as it is, but he said he can work it out so I remain balanced.

I’ve included pics from front and side view. I put multiple especially for side views to give a better idea of exactly where and how I’m recessed, mind you I’m aware that I have recession but I wish to take full advantage of this opportunity to fix this issue and not misfire based on memes or wrong information
