I don't know. I am kind of just moping, but I feel like what has come to be considered funny by Gen Z is some of the most superficial, thoughtless, repetitive shit that it's honestly just kind of sad.

I just find it hard to believe that people genuinely find each other funny these days, so the laughter just feels forced.

People laugh as a means of smoothening a conversation, for instance avoiding/combatting awkwardness, and/or if they like you as a person, of course--not so much what you say.

The same can be said for millennials. It’s actually us who brought this kind of “humor” to the rest of the world and gen Z copied and went along with it. I also agree with the idea of laughter as a relaxant in social atmospheres.
