Best in terms of the most filling and satisfying for its calorie content. It keeps you full for a very long time and is high in volume. Hot rice pudding. Self-made obviously, not the refrigerated stuff with cream, carrageenan and other junk in it you can buy at the grocery store.
All you need is round grain or basmati rice (my preference), low fat milk, sugar/honey, a pack or two of vanilla sugar and a ripe banana. Cinnamon sugar as a topping if you want (you still need to keep an eye on calories and stay below your TDEE obviously). You can dilute the milk with water or even cook the rice with water and add the milk afterwards for unmoggable volume and fullness factor. Adding more fluid (milk/water) makes the rice softer and increases portion size. Round grain rice requires more fluid than basmati or other types of rice.
The high volume, richness, water content and slow-digesting milk proteins make it an ideal weight loss dish because it‘s so filling and relatively low in calories relative to its volume. Always remember: Volume and satisfaction are key for successful long term weight management. Bland crash diets don‘t work in the long term.
