Best in terms of the most filling and satisfying for its calorie content. It keeps you full for a very long time and is high in volume. Hot rice pudding. Self-made obviously, not the refrigerated stuff with cream, carrageenan and other junk in it you can buy at the grocery store.

All you need is round grain or basmati rice (my preference), low fat milk, sugar/honey, a pack or two of vanilla sugar and a ripe banana. Cinnamon sugar as a topping if you want (you still need to keep an eye on calories and stay below your TDEE obviously). You can dilute the milk with water or even cook the rice with water and add the milk afterwards for unmoggable volume and fullness factor. Adding more fluid (milk/water) makes the rice softer and increases portion size. Round grain rice requires more fluid than basmati or other types of rice.

The high volume, richness, water content and slow-digesting milk proteins make it an ideal weight loss dish because it‘s so filling and relatively low in calories relative to its volume. Always remember: Volume and satisfaction are key for successful long term weight management. Bland crash diets don‘t work in the long term.

Not as filling. You need volume, carbs and a little fat to stay full. Add sweet potatoes and a ton of veggies to your steak and you can call it a decent meal

Why does it matter if you feel "full" or not?

Because it‘s easier to stick to your diet if you‘re full versus hangry and miserable all the time

Isn't this lowkey just the same as oats? Or the carbs in rice do something different

Each their own I guess. When I cut to single digit BF, I just cut out carbs (for the most part) from my diet and reduced the number of meals. But if you lack discipline I suggest you just try to cut the number of meals a day - keep it to 2-3. Obviously no unhealthy food or snacks.

If you're a gymcel you obviously need to do it more carefully - make sure you get sufficient protein and not doing it too fast to retain as much muscle mass as possible.

You can also make oatmeal with milk but personally, I prefer rice pudding. Tastes better and absorbs more liquid.

It‘s not just the rice, the combo of carbs, sugar, taste, high volume and milk protein is just unmoggable. One of the most filling dishes there are imo

Whatever works for you. Eating satisfying high-volume foods in a balanced diet is great for people who lack discipline to stack to bland restricted diets though

I'm currently changing my diet and I need ideas for some good meals that taste good and not too high-calories

You made me curious, I will try rice pudding during next week...

I need to find a strong recipe

I really like rice tbh, my last cheat-meal yesterday was a homemade risotto and it was heaven, but I can't eat a rich risotto everyday because I would become a legit fat fuck

I've never eaten rice pudding ...

Of course you can. I'm not a big fan of raisins myself but if you like them, go ahead

idk how people don't know this or act as if it is disgusting lol, it is a go to, easy but delicious, well known desert in most cuisines

Not just for desert, as a main meal too. Quite nutritious too. Low-carb sugarphobiacs on suicide watch

tbh in my cuisine we eat it as a desert, but in arabic cuisine i have seen it being eaten as a standalone meal by itself

Balanced, not restricting/avoiding any macronutrient or salt. High volume meals to stay as full as possible. Plenty of protein, tons of veggies, non-dehydrated carbs like sweet potatoes and rice, low fat milk and 1-2 whole eggs per day (filling), fresh fruits, avoiding processed and dehydrated foods if possible. Stay hydrated and watch electrolytes. Moderate calorie deficit and calorie cycling (e.g. 1-2 days per week surplus). Most importantly, eat what tastes good to you and don‘t bother with diets you know you won‘t stick to for long anyway
