Also, there are ways to vet your roommates before signing a lease. Go for a viewing and don’t sign anything blindly, have a look at the kitchen and bathrooms especially.

Where I am (big downtown city) it’s basically the norm now to have roommates, otherwise it’s just way too expensive.
