Hi all,

I had a consultation for a box genioplasty recently. Due to the type of cut, I was told there isn’t a “step” effect like with traditional genioplasty. However, judging by where the cuts are made, I’m concerned it could narrow the chin from the front and make it look more rounded rather than square.

My chin is already quite square from the front, and I don’t want to risk losing that shape.
Could anyone with experience of this procedure, or a good understanding of it, please share their thoughts?

You couldn't ask this during your consultation?

I did ask this. He said we can keep the width of the chin, but there aren’t many before-and-afters, and none from the front, so I’ve not seen hard evidence.
