Which is better? Ortho said it would take 6-9 months since my teeth aren't terrible. I assume he knows what he's doing but is there anything in specific I should request/ask about to maximize dental aesthetics? (I'm 19)

Braces are way better.
They work 24/7 unlike invisalig, and they are also stronger and indicated for more precise complex corrections

maybe get palate expander instead if your palate is narrow?
Wouldn't do much, ortho said it's fused. He also said that my teeth need to be rotated outward if that makes sense? (They're pointing in rn) Which also furthers narrow palate appearance. My teeth aren't crowded at all just dark corridors.

I was under the impression invisalign is kept in 24/7 with the exception of when you eat or brush teeth?

Invisalign is meant to be worn 20 hours a day, which means 24/7 except when u eat or brush. If u wear them less than that, tooth movement slows down and tracking issues can happen. They are good, but for complex movements, braces still have more mechanical control and force application

Plus I would be down for that anyways but I ain't paying $10k for it. My parents will only pay for braces or invisalign.
im pretty sure u can get it by insurance if your palate is very narrow, i have the same issue and im getting both bimax and sarpe

I'll try and ask them. I do have lots of night grinding which I know can be caused by narrow palate. But there is not evident harmful overcrowding.
