braces + herbst

I've been researching on weather braces along eith herbst appliance would ascend my recessed chin and I couldn't find any right answer, always in-between

some people reported great results, others ended up with even greater recession and regret
and I can't find the difference in their pre-op. and no it wasn't even about extractions cause I found some who extracted and obtained mirin results where as some people didn't even extract and got recession

do I get braces with herbst appliance? Will it be ascend? anyone who has had it

Both CCW rotation and CW rotation of the mandibular bone can occur with herbst appliance; it depends on whether your face is hypodivergent or hyperdivergent thats why some ppl get recession from it

Your orthodontist will tell you whether it can advance your mandible more forward and upward if you ask.

how old are you? age is a very big factor to actually getting results from an herbst appliance. if ur past 15 its cope and youre not going to see any forward growth or rotation

I would assume i have hypodivergency. I do have class 2 division 2 malocclusion

turning 17 this month and I'm an extremely-early bloomer, yea I do suppose it won't do much but I have to squeeze the little bit of ascension I can as much as possible then I'll bs
