braces with 21 years?

So I need my crossbite fixed, but i'm scared to go to the orthodontics cuz mr. mew always says how braces fuck up ur bones etc. i have a good jawline/zygos etc. and dont want to fuck them up or does this only happen if u get braces at young age when ur bones still grow?


my bite looks a little like this, just not as bad obv (i would be subhuman if it was like this)
