Chewing mouth guard is also making my face bloated. Why is this happening?

I have been chewing falim gum but it caused bloating. Retards here told me it’s because my cheek muscles from moving gums are getting activated. So I decided to just chew mouth guard since it won’t activate my cheek muscles. I molded it and did a chewing session and I thought only my massetter muscles would get activated but boom I still got bloated. Why is it happening? Is my cheek muscle still getting activated inspite of no need of movement and me just chewing.

Ya you just need to make sure that there is not a net intrusion force on your teeth. Only periodic moments of force followed by hard mewing. If there is a constant force on your teeth they will intrude and bone will resorb fucking your face up.

yes, thats exactly it bro, i do it for only 2 mins max a day. to loosen sutures for hard mewing. also such an insane masseter workout. way harder than chewing gum etc. but i wouldnt advise to ppl with or at risk of tmd

What retainer do you use. (Would appreciate if you can link it) Preferably it should be one which covers all your teeth (imo) some may suggest that a bite which focuses on certain parts of the arch may activate different muscles which may be more important to getting the reaults

Activation of chewing muscles that simple

your cheekmuscles will get activated no matter how you chew, you can limit cheek muscle activation by not opening mouth too wide and chewing smaller pieces, but most of the time the bloating is excess in some people than others because of
1. Higher buccal fat in the cheeks just look at your cheeks when haven't chewed for a long time if they look fat compared to rest of the face it means you have high bucal fat at cheeks.
2. Very recessed and narrow lower jaw, if your lower jaw is narrow compared to upper jaw then bloating will look like extreme since the curve of cheeks will look more prominent which you get after bloating.
