Could someone truly explain the hair loss side effects of Accutane??

I've read that it has nothing to do with DHT, and that it could be irreversible

Accutane can cause hair loss because it reduces oil production in the skin and scalp.
This can dry out hair follicles and push some hairs into a resting phase earlier than normal, so more hair falls out temporarily.
The effect is usually called telogen effluvium, which means stress on the body causes increased shedding. Higher doses and longer treatment make it more likely. For most people, the hair grows back after stopping the medication.
