Well depends on where you live and how much sun you get daily. If its winter and you get little sun, I'd go for 20 to 25k IU Vitamin D with enough Vitamin K2 and some Milk (Fat so your body can way more effectifely absorb Vitamin D)Over for me then If I only consume 5k daily

1000iu of d3 definetely isn't enough. You need at least 2000iu in order not to be deficiant, although many specialists recommend to go higher than that, consider 3000-5000IU range. It also depends on the climate in your country and how much time you spend outside, since you also absorb vit D from direct sunlight exposure.
