Do i have ADHD or are my dopamine receptors fried

I suck at fucking school work bc i cant listen to what the teacher is saying , like i try listen and after like 5 seconds i wake up from a 5 minute day dream if that makes sense, i feel like i process stuff in classrooms insanly slow even when i try hard to understand, and ITS NOT bc im stupid, im intelligent with my personal interests and also Math which comes naturally, i also got a 1700 rating on chess.com (10 minute games) after like 6 weeks learning chess from scratch and im very witty and eloquent socially so its not bc im stupid but bc I cared and enjoyed it I surpassed everyone i new at it quickly , BUT i have always learned stuff in school like 2x more slow then classmates, then i randomly became the best at something i Enjoyed (basketball), i think i may have a slow processing speed which would explain a lot
my dad wants me to get screened for ADHD, should i take medication if diagnosed???

idk im basically normal to everyone else the Autistic kids i know are a lot worse then me

It can be both. try dopamine detoxing. Say no to. 20 things /day. See how that helps you, then pursue adhd drugs if needed to go WITH the dopamine techniques. this is the only way imo

To test if you rlly ND, take med, if it makes you schizo overly energetic twitchy, you probably not ND, if it works as intended and just allows you to hyperfocus on command but function normally, you are ND and highly consider medication

To test if you rlly ND, take med, if it makes you schizo overly energetic twitchy, you probably not ND, if it works as intended and just allows you to hyperfocus on command but function normally, you are ND and highly consider medication

i tried ritalin three times all of them was great but i dont really wanna use any adhd med in the long term

taking adhd medication is like the quickest way to destroy your brain

If ritalin worked then stick to it in the short term, later suppliment with caffine, make sure if you're still a youngcell to push through the appetizing suppression of medication and eat enough per day to prevent stunting of growth, apart from that you should be fine.

i used meds for a while but realized that adhd basically makes ur brian run 10x faster than NT's, i learned to control it and use it to work harder in school and ec's
