I have terrible posture due to my cooked airway. I am very downward grown and extremely recessed.

Would fixing my posture actually have an effect on mandible? It makes sense but it might be a stupid question cuz I don’t rly know shit.

Gonna fix posture anyways, this would just motivate me more :feelsokman:

Fixing posture now won't undo the damage already done. The damage isn't necessarily caused by bad posture though, probably mouth breathing at a really young age prevented expansion of the palate, which prevented you to place tongue which prevented the airway to expand and leading to a recessed underdeveloped face. What happens is because of that your tongue sits further back in your neck and your body tries to compensate...
yea its mostly dependent on the neck, get a posture pillow and loosen any tight muscles in your upper back. (mark as solution:aheago::aheago:)

my airway dentist and osteopath say it's possible under 25.

i just had a huge revelation today about posture. i've been conciously worrying about how i engage several muscle groups, and it doesn't feel natural. but today, i imagined that my tongue is connected all the way down to my feet. when i think about it that way and push my tongue up (hardmewing), i engage the root properly. this causes my spine to straighten automatically and i take deep diaphragmatic breaths.

this is a nice way to think about it, from one of the greatest mewers of all time

What happens is because of that your tongue sits further back in your neck and your body tries to compensate with it by pushing your neck and face forward which is what leads you to that posture. So it's not the posture that made that issue and it's not what it'll fix it.

So basically it’s over :cautious:

I wasn’t a mouth breather, orthos took 4 premolars out my face for no reason at 12, genuinely ruined my life fuck them

Do you think I should try to find an airway dentist or something? I’m pretty cooked I think

I had terrible posture my entire life but i have a good jaw. My brother is a mouth breather with a subhuman jaw so i think its more about nosebreathing than posture.

My tongue don’t even fit in my mouth buddy I can’t even mew :lul:
to answer your question from earlier, see an airway dentist then. they may provide you with some appliance. i thankfully have a wide palate. i made the airway dentist my dentist to cut my tongue tie and for professional opinions.

I’ve been wanting to for a while, I’m nd as fuck and I’m socially inept I’m too scared to do anything, I also wouldn’t be able to afford it and I’d hate to burden my parents on that shit idk

it took me a while to get off my ass too. i searched for all the airway dentists in my area and then checked if they were in network through my insurance portal. insurance covered only a bit, my parents covered like a third of what insurance didn't cover and then i wageslaved for a couple months. its for your health, if you explain it to your parents it wouldn't feel a burden to them

It would be a burden, for other reasons I don’t want to say publicly
