Do you need to take finasteride after a transplant?

Obviously the hair that is susceptible to DHT will still fall but I thought the donor hair was DHT resistant?

it is, but you don't want to have transplanted hair in the front and then behind that you keep losing ground

I'd probably just get another transplant at some point if the hair loss stays slow. Fin isn't good for me because I already have gyno so my hormones are probably fucked.

get your hormones tested (dht, t, free t, estradiol, prolactin, shgb, dhea-s, tyhroid etc.) and find out. Your hormones might be ok and the gyno is a leftover from puberty, you never know. Alternatively you could get surgery for gyno down the line, considering you already suffer from it ... Fin can be used in smaller dosages (0.2, 0.5), or every other day. Also there is minoxidil which could help too

Fin is the bare minimum. Apparently you can get the breast glands removed with surgery to stop gyno from returning, but the brain fog is by far the worse fin side effect.

When I was taking it I was forgetting almost half the stuff I did in the day. Didn't realise it was the a Fin side effect until someone pointed it out here.

I get all the side effects minus gyno, and it still doesn't fully stop my hairline receding. Going to get my head shaved soon to assess how bad the situation is if i go bald, think i would rather rope than go on dutasteride for life as it's the only real option RN.

For me it actually regrew my hair. Went from a Norwood 1.5/2 to almost a 1. Shame that I was feeling severley depressed when using it, though that may have been the nocebo effect. Main concern was weight gain, especially around the chest and hips since I'm skinny fat. Also maybe im being paranoid but my dick kind of shrivelled up so I was worried it would make it smaller.

of course you do, what do you think your MPB genes will just disappear just because u got some new hair?
