Do you use your cheeks to gather saliva in your mouth to mew?

So basically when I wanna get my tongue on the roof of my mouth I have to swallow the saliva but when I gather it I use my cheeks (buccinator muscles). Is that normal or not? I don't want them to be overdeveloped obv
